From 1984 to 1986 he studied painting, drawing and art history. From 1970 he worked with tempera. His first works using oil medium date from 1975.
During his one year stay in Italy (1987) he studied techniques of old masters in Rome's galleries and museums while creating a lot of works of art for local clients
From 1988 in St.Louis, in 1988-1992 he worked with a well-known local artists while developing his own style.
Irek has traveled a lot troughout Europe looking for new experiences, magic colors of nature and fascinating qualities of light and
shadow.
Over the years he created many art works which are now in many private collections in St.Louis
